“The Unwritten: Highlights in Emerging Painting” is a large scale group exhibition curated by Christian Bazant-Hegemark.
The exhibition offers a high-frequency view on what’s currently happening in Austrian painting, highlighting artists who operate in a certain distance to galleries, institutions and art fairs. It is the follow-up to the 2011 exhibition “Before the movies, paintings were like the movies” (http://tinyurl.com/nql8kwo), and is scheduled to coincide with the VIENNAFAIR 2014.
Located at Vienna’s art space “mo.ë” (www.moe-vienna.org), the exhibition offers the unique atmosphere of an abandoned monarchal 19th century metal factory, used to produce imperial insignia.

** FLUXGUIDE **
The exhibition is one of the rare initiatives sponsored by fluxguide (www.fluxguide.com), an Austrian startup founded by Kasra and André Seirafi, enabling museums and exhibition spaces around the globe to extend their exhibitions in a contemporary, participative way. fluxguide’s smartphone app allows visitors to access a whole range of extensive background information on the exhibited works and their respective artists. This includes basic info like artist bios and work information, but also the artist’s thoughts on specific pieces, or the possibility to view further (not exhibited) works of those artists the visitor is interested in - and more:
Visitors can navigate their way through the exhibition space based in state-of-the-art bluetooth beacons, as well as create their own personal digital collections of favorite works. They can also comment on the exhibited works themselves, facilitating a still rare, yet long wished for possibility to connect recipients and artists - in the exhibition, but also later on, from at home.
** mo.ë ” **
mo.ë is operated by Hannah Menne, Christian Bazant-Hegemark, Katharina Day, Alex Felch, Matthias Gassner and Alisa Beck.
